INFORMATION ON TRAVEL BASEBALL

If you or your son is interested in playing travel baseball, there are a few things you should know. First, it is not recreational baseball. There will be tryouts and the level of competition is higher. Second, depending on the coach, you should plan to have at least three nights booked for baseball during the spring season and one night throughout the winter. You will be traveling (hence the name) to your opponents games opposed to in-house where we play mostly at CTP. Generally the drive will be an hour to an hour and a half. It is also more expensive then recreational baseball because you receive more uniforms and equipment, but the competition is higher and will benefit the kids that already play at high levels.

HOW DO I KNOW TRAVEL IS RIGHT FOR ME?

If your athlete is playing recreational baseball and is not learning from other players or if he is competitive and thrives on a challenge. If he wants to play high school or college baseball, then travel baseball is probably right for him. It can be extremely rewarding with the right player and he can progress much faster than he would in recreational ball.
